Josh Niles

Provisional Psychologist

I'm a Provisional Psychologist at MensPsych training under the direct supervision of Dr Ian Zajac.

Coming from an international student background and having grown up in South East Asia, where mental health is often heavily stigmatised and rarely spoken about, I can relate to the cultural and personal barriers that can make reaching out for support feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or even unacceptable

My goal is to create a space where a clients feel comfortable enough for us to address what is going on in their lives, without feeling judged or like they need to have things 'figured out' out before starting therapy. My approach is warm, practical and most importantly, collaborative. I want clients to better understand their experiences and patterns in their life, and how they relate to how they are feeling.

I firmly believe that therapy works best when there is a genuine partnership between psychologist and client. Together, we can identify what is going on, build on your strengths and work towards making meaningful, long term changes in your wellbeing.
